For the UBC Community
These Fair Dealing Guidelines deal with copying by
faculty members, staff and students of UBC within the fair dealing exception. These guidelines cover making a single copy within the university environment, from a work protected by copyright for the purposes of research, private study, criticism, review or news reporting in circumstances in which the consent of the owner of copyright has not been secured and is not required by reason of the fair dealing exception in the Copyright Act.
For the UBC Library
These Fair Dealing Guidelines only deal with copying by
the UBC Library within the fair dealing exception. These guidelines cover copying related to interlibrary loans, university library reserve and document delivery to patrons of the library.
